Wishing for Spring

When I was little, if my mother was cold, she made me put on a sweater. I hated that! But, here I am making Em do that. It’s a chilly and breezy day today, so Em has to stay warm too.

I purchased this sweater and skirt set from Beyond a few weeks ago. It was on sale, with each piece priced separately. I couldn’t make up my mind which ones I wanted, so I ended up splurging on the fat pack. It was also sale-priced, so it wasn’t too much of a splurge!

I chose transitional colors — a bit of gray for the sky (and my mood) and pink for comforting hope of spring.

Mary Had a Little Lamb

Most of the time my photos set ups are pure serendipity. A few days ago, I unpacked a box with the cute little lamb I am holding in my arms. Then Storax Tree had a cute assortment of sheep sets for sale last weekend. Today I found this sweet summer dress. I just had to put it all together with this backdrop from Adorably Strange Wares.

Pretty in Pink Fuel

In my last post, I mentioned going back to my Lelutka head. Then came the hunt for a new skin. My last “regular” skin was from Lara Hurley. I think their skins are perfection! But everyone has strengths and weaknesses in their designs and theirs is no exception. They excel at skins for redheads and blondes, but I wanted to get back to my brunette looks with a moderately tanned skin that looked true to tone. I hunted around for hours in vain, even trying on other Lelutka heads in an effort to mix and match.

But then I remembered Pink Fuel. I absolutely LOVE their cosmetics– one of their lipstick packs I use for my everyday wear– and I knew they had a few skins in the store. I knew I’d found a winner when I tried on the Anja skins.

My Maria

I’ve gone back to my Lelutka Chloe head. I gave the Genus Classic a good solid tryout and I just couldn’t love it. It has great potential but the HUD just can’t compare to Lelutka’s. The Genus head appliers are also a bit sluggish and the HUD layout isn’t quite as logical. I also really like the Lelutka expressions better.

I decided to go for a skin change. I’m still on the hunt but this one called Maria by ItGirls appealed to me. My one complaint so far is that there isn’t a way to have the skin without a hair base. That small change would be a huge improvement!

I should be unpacking my Friday and Saturday sale purchases as well as everything I got from the two hunts I did this week, but as usual, I got distracted by a sale ad and wandered off to !gO!. I hadn’t been in this store for about three years and was delighted by some of the things I saw. This dress is the current group gift.

Another Chance

Sylvi of b[ELLE] sent me another version of her bellbottom/top outfit and I thought “Whew! I can get a second chance at doing a promo shot!”. Reminder to self– never ever try to do a photo and post when I’m tired, short on time or hungry. That day I was all three!

Yesterday’s Dress

The dress I wore yesterday to the real estate office is so attractive, I wanted to feature it. The fabric feels oh-so soft against my skin. The lace trim on the deep neckline and hem are just the right touch of femininity. The belt, shown here in brown, has a small color change HUD. Not too short or revealing, the dress is perfect for the office or a dinner date.
