Sparkling Like a Diamond

This is an outfit inspired by a Neil Diamond event at The Willows, a wonderfully creative dance club owned by Faleen Renard. See this link for an events calendar, updated weekly.

Wishing for Spring

When I was little, if my mother was cold, she made me put on a sweater. I hated that! But, here I am making Em do that. It’s a chilly and breezy day today, so Em has to stay warm too.

I purchased this sweater and skirt set from Beyond a few weeks ago. It was on sale, with each piece priced separately. I couldn’t make up my mind which ones I wanted, so I ended up splurging on the fat pack. It was also sale-priced, so it wasn’t too much of a splurge!

I chose transitional colors — a bit of gray for the sky (and my mood) and pink for comforting hope of spring.

Divine Diva

I was inspired to create this outfit by today’s event at my favorite club, The Willows. DJ extraordinaire Jaffee Gaffer presented two hours of music by Divine Divas. The jumpsuit and jacket was on sale last weekend at PM for 60L and was absolutely perfect for this event. In fact, everything shown here, other than body, skin and hair, I purchased on sale at various times.

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

It was a dark and stormy night…..I’ve always wanted to write that opening line somewhere! I went to the beach and had a lovely, relaxing day. But toward evening, the storm clouds rolled in and the rain poured down. I didn’t want to just hang out in my hotel room watching a movie all by myself, so I donned my raincoat and dashed to the local pub. It’s a great place to be in blustery weather!

I went back to La Vallee and took this shot through the aqueduct. Most of the time, rocks and mountains in SL lack proper definition and texture, but these are quite exceptional. I used minimal adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop, just enough to boost the light and shadows and add a touch of distance blurring. The clouds are a combination of native sky clouds and Mega Off-Sim clouds by Landscapes Unlimited. I have to say, I’m impressed by the realism on this sim.

Stairway at Sunset

Having never been to Spain or other Mediterranean locales, this place made me wish I was in southern California or Santa Fe. I can feel the dry, warm air and smell the air heavy with the scent of flowers. I want to wander up that stairway and explore the streets and alleys above.

I found La Vallee by looking at the current list Editor’s Picks in Destinations.

Havendale Village Farmer’s Market

Browsing at the Farmer’s Market

This is the time of year that I crave fresh fruits and vegetables, bursting with flavor. After eating the somewhat tasteless varieties all winter, I am excited to see local produce coming into the market. I’m trying to decide what to bring home for dinner tonight!

I found this cute gingham dress a couple weeks ago and paired it with the braided hair by Wasabi. It looked so summery, I just had to go hunt down a farmer’s market. I was a bit hungry at the time, too! Although I chose a pose from my inventory for this photo, several of the food trucks and booths have poses built in for photography.
