Hello, I am Emeraldmist Nightfire, Em to my friends, and I am an unapologetic, unrepentant, shopaholic in the Second Life® virtual world. Counting my first avatar, Gamay Nouvelle, I have been an SL resident for over 13 years.
I’ve done a lot of things in SL including singing, photography, art, design and building, but the thing I confess to loving most is SHOPPING. This is peculiar because I’m not much of a shopper in real life. My first world wardrobe would best be described as “comfy”. But in SL, I turn into a rabid fashionista!
As a result, I have a LOT, I mean a TON of clothing, shoes, makeup, accessories, hair…Oh, Em, Gee the hair! I have purchases still in boxes that I’ve never opened going back several years. Gulp!
I told myself, “Em, STOP shopping until you go through everything and organize your inventory”. Who am I kidding? I am addicted to reading the listings on FabFree, Hello Tuesday, Fifty Linden Fridays, Uber and Collabor88. I read through the daily posts on Seraphim. like the shopping addict I am. When my budget runs low, I go after the group and event gifts, freebies, cheapies and the hunts!! And we won’t even talk about Gachas….
Excessories is a blog about my inventory. I will do my best to explain what I’m wearing and where it came from, but there may be items listed that are no longer available in-world on the marketplace.
So now I take a deep breath, put on a hardhat and open my closet door…
